Robert B. Parry was a schoolmaster in the Canterbury region. He was notable due to his published reminiscences in the ‘’Evening News’’[1] which recorded the early history of the area.

He was the headmaster of Canterbury Public School during the early 1900s and later served as the president of the ‘’Canterbury Literary and Debating Club’’[2]. He later transferred to Granville North and was succeeded by George Dart. He was presented with a marble clock and an illuminated address upon the move.
