INDEX TO BUILDING APPLICATIONS 1925-26

Four books of Building Applications for Canterbury survive before 1950. They cover the following years:

1925-26 1927-28 1928-30 1930-34

The Building Applications for 1925 and 1926 were indexed by Mary-Anne Warner in 2001, funded by a Centenary of Federation grant.

The index includes the following columns:

The index is a virtual transcript, with the entries for most of the columns included except the following columns.

Value of building erected Receipt number Fees paid Assessment number Remarks
Ranges from 25 pounds for a shed to 1035 pounds for a house. Most houses were between 400-750 pounds Some entries ticked, otherwise blank [in shillings]] Either number entered or Not Assessed Most are ticked, some say Not Assessed

Each fortnight there is a totalling of the number of applications as follows:

These totals are not included in the index.
